A Stoned Bikinis piece is more than a competition garment.

It is individually handcrafted wearable art, embellished with thousands of rhinestones and designed to catch the light from every angle.

With the right care, your piece can continue to sparkle competition after competition.

Before your first wear

Your suit has been carefully inspected and prepared before leaving Stoned Bikinis.

For the best result:

Handle the garment gently when putting it on and taking it off.
Avoid pulling directly on rhinestones, trims or delicate embellishments.
Take your time when positioning straps and fastenings.

Putting on your suit

Because your suit is heavily embellished, avoid dragging or pulling the fabric unnecessarily.

When dressing:

Handle the garment with clean, dry hands.
Open and position straps before putting the garment into place where possible.
Avoid catching rhinestones against jewellery, nails or other sharp objects.
Never pull on the rhinestones themselves to adjust the garment.
Make sure the suit is sitting correctly before making final adjustments.

A little extra care while dressing can prevent unnecessary stress on the fabric and embellishments.

After your competition

After wearing your suit, allow it to air completely before storing it.

If the suit has come into contact with tanning products, sweat or other residue, gently wipe the affected areas with a clean, slightly damp microfibre cloth.

Do not soak the suit.

Avoid rubbing directly over heavily embellished areas.

Cleaning

Your Stoned Bikinis piece should not be machine washed or soaked.

We recommend:

Spot cleaning only where possible.
Using a clean, slightly damp microfibre cloth.
Gently wiping rather than scrubbing.
Allowing the garment to air dry completely before storing.

Do not use bleach, harsh detergents, fabric softener, abrasive cleaners or other aggressive chemicals on the garment or embellishments.

Avoid applying cleaning products directly to rhinestones.

Tanning products

Competition tanning products can transfer onto fabric and embellishments.

Where possible, allow your competition tan to dry and set before putting on your suit.

After your competition, gently remove visible residue from the garment using the care method above.

Rhinestone care

Your suit contains a large number of individually applied rhinestones.

Some movement or loss of individual stones can occur with normal wear, particularly during competition use, dressing and removal.

This is one reason we provide a small vial of spare rhinestones with your stage kit.

If a stone becomes loose:

Do not pull at surrounding stones.
Keep the loose stone if possible.
Store it safely.
Contact Stoned Bikinis if you require advice about a repair.

We recommend storing your spare stones with your suit so they are available when needed.

Repairs

Small repairs may sometimes be possible depending on the issue and the materials involved.

Attempting repairs with unsuitable adhesives or excessive heat may damage the garment or embellishments.

Storage

When your suit is not being worn:

Make sure it is completely dry before storing.
Store it in a clean, dry environment.
Keep it away from direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
Avoid placing heavy items on top of the suit.
Do not store the garment compressed beneath other clothing.
Keep jewellery and accessories stored separately, or in the supplied boxes, where possible.
Keep spare rhinestones with the suit.

For long-term storage, allowing the garment room to breathe is preferable to sealing it away while there is any residual moisture.

Transporting your suit

Your competition suit deserves protection when travelling.

When transporting it to a competition:

Keep it in its protective packaging.
Avoid placing heavy items on top of it.
Keep it away from sharp objects, jewellery and accessories that could catch on the fabric or embellishments.
Avoid leaving it in excessive heat for prolonged periods.
Check the suit before leaving for your competition.

Your stage kit contains useful items for small on-the-day mishaps and should travel with your suit.

Treat the rhinestones gently.

Your suit has been individually embellished by hand, with thousands of stones carefully positioned to create its design.

Handle it with care, store it thoughtfully and give it the attention you'd give any piece of wearable art.
